No Paycheck Fairness in Hollywood

"A woman deserves workplace policies that protect her right to have a baby without losing her job". Think about what the president is saying here. The average maternity leave goes on for over ten weeks. That's over two months someone who's otherwise working would be away. And what, the company is supposed to pay her or make sure she's got an empty seat waiting for her after a ten week hiatus? Why does a small business owe a woman that? Do they owe women (or anyone for that matter) a job or a job that fits with their life plans? If the boss can afford it and they choose to accommodate that, all the power to them.
