I don't think Peter Schiff is a patriot of America, as such. I don't get that feeling off him. I would say he is basically just a patriot to what is right. And if you know what's good for you, you'll vote for someone like Schiff ahead of a "romantic" patriot ANY day.

You generally get elected by first saying what people want to hear - not by telling them the truth. It is very hard for 'real' people to compete with liars in politics. So liars are what we get. Competitive forces largely dictates this.

Because although Schiff is relatively specialised, he is indeed the right man for the job for America's problems today.
