Peter Schiff : I want to become a serf

Peter Schiff - Kerry Lutz Interview - September 22, 2011

Peter Schiff : medieval serfs had to turn 25 percent of what they produced to the Lord and that was considered really oppressive because they only got to keep 75 percent of what they earned , I wish that I can somehow be elevated to the level of a serf someone should have to emancipate me , my goal in life is to be treated like a serf , because that will be a vast improvement of how I am treated now

The U.S. has the highest corporate taxes in the world. On top of that, there are so many complex loopholes that only the largest corporations with hundreds of millions of dollars invested in accounting and legal departments that are able to exploit these loopholes. Perfect example: GE, Goldman Sachs, etc... The one regulation that absolutely shouldn't have been replaced is Glass-Steagall--with a caveat. Glass-Steagall was part of the Banking Act of the early 30's. It was put in place to separate comm. and investment banking. That was necessary because that same Banking Act created FDIC insurance. That is collectivized risk. A market regulates by fear of loss. When a moral hazard like collectivized risk is present then the fear of loss in gone.

Peter Schiff : the real crisis will come when the world is fleeing the dollar not embracing it

Peter Schiff : we do not have the resources to fight a war , we barely can afford peace although we do not actually have that either right now , the real crisis will come when the world is fleeing the dollar not embracing it , right now with bad as it is the dollar is actually going up , treasuries are going up , people are buying dollars and treasuries as they sell stocks , when the real crisis happens they are going to be selling dollars and treasuries that's the real crisis , then the dollar plunges then interest rates go up and then prices go through the roof and that's what's really going to turn this into a crisis it is going to be an inflationary depression ....

Peter Schiff reacts to Operation Twist

Peter Schiff : the FED does not care on how much damage it does on the long run , the FED is acting very politically and it is trying whatever it can to try to boost the economy ahead of the 2012 elections , so its latest brain storm is that it concluded that the problem with the US economy is that interest rates , long term interest rate are just not low enough despite the fact that they have never been this low in our life time , the yield on the ten year is 1.875 % that's it , the 30 year is down to 3.039% , we nmever had interest rates so low , the economy is a mess interest rates are as low as they have ever been and the FED's conclusion is 'If we could just get them a little lower that's going to do the trick and the economy is going to turn around "

Peter Schiff : The stimulus is a sedative

Peter Schiff on FOX News 09/21/11

Peter Schiff : The stimulus is a sedative it will continue to undermine the economy , business do not need more government spending , in fact government spending is depriving the business from the capital they need to grow , because the money that government spends is money that business cannot invest , but probably more importantly , government is killing business with rules and regulations that cost a fortune to comply with
